One more thing I forgot to show. The pad for the pool is being poured this week. This is going to be a very active place when it is done. In his enthusiasm, Bill has invited everyone in the city of White Salmon to swim. I hope we have enough towels!

Okay, This is probably where the blog becomes a little less interesting to some of you. Or perhaps MORE interesting! It is an exciting phase! We now have power in the building. Therefore, we are closer to having light! and HEAT! The plumbing is also almost hooked up inside.
Here is a view of the recessed lighting in the kitchen area. Two small cans above the sink area - Bill is going to have really good lighting while he is doing the dishes or loading the dishwasher! Then there is a pattern of four over the entire area. This layout worked nicely for my kitchen in Portland
Wires coming in off the power box. very colorful wires. I have not spoken to the electrician yet to know what they are all for. If you are reading this blog, Randy Hess, perhaps you can offer some explanation.
Here's the drain system leading from the bathroom, kitchen and laundry area. And eventually on to the sewer line.
Hook up for sink and dishwasher.
And what you have all been anxiously awaiting to see...the ductless heat pump! This is a photo of the one in the studio apartment. There is also one in the pool area. It is much smaller than I thought it would be. As you can see, it is about as wide as a door opening. This one will live in the entry area of the apartment. We are so looking forward to being warm!

They dug a little deeper in the pool room to make room for the deep end of the pool. So here is our latest pile of rocks for landscaping.
And look what we found.....
There seems to be a spring in the pool room. We're gonna need a SUMP pump! Who would have guessed on a basalt bluff?
This weekend I got to check out all of the new work myself. Look at the Entrance, Garage and Living area windows. And balcony, of course!
Sleeping alcove windows.
Kitchen , bath and stairs windows.
Oops, forgot to move the garbage can before I snapped this photo. Looking good from the alley.
I was coming home this evening and was caught by the view from our neighbor's house. I thought it looked quite nice.

Today was quite busy! The electrician and his helper were here wiring. Zach and Alan began the window installation. Things are changing fast! Each activity makes it feel more like a real building. Bill provided the photos via his iphone.
East side windows. Sleeping area.
South side apartment sliders and garage windows. You can see the entry window slightly to the left.
Garage windows - close up
West side windows for the apartment and stairwell.

Today was a busy day! The windows arrived! You can see one leaning against the opening in the photo below. They are all being stored in the garage. Alan's team is scheduled to begin installation tomorrow.
The deck was framed. This is going to help Bill and Pearl keep an eye on the neighborhood!

Weather has been playing the biggest factor. It has been so cold that there has been no motivation to work. The plumber wants it heated before he begins. However, the electrician is good to go. The windows are expected to arrive on Tuesday. That will allow Alan and his team to get things enclosed and comfortable for the plumber.
Window openings for the pool room on the north side were framed in last week.
Interior view of the north side window openings.
